Medical negligence
Lorraine is a senior paralegal in the medical negligence team and is based in the firm’s Basingstoke office. She has been a member of the team, in various roles, since 2005, and works alongside colleagues, ranging from associates to partners, to ensure the smooth running of cases and acts as a key contact for clients.
Lorraine assists with claims against NHS trusts, GPs and private healthcare providers in a number of different medical fields, including obstetrics, paediatrics, gynaecology, general surgery, oncology, sepsis, delayed diagnosis and surgical error. She also helps the team with cases involving families who have lost a relative as a result of their medical treatment.
I enjoy making a difference to our clients’ lives, supporting them through what can be an extremely stressful time. When working on their cases, I try to adopt a gentle and understanding approach that validates their experience.
With an excellent understanding of the sensitive issues involved, Lorraine works hard to ensure that clients recover the compensation to which they are entitled. She ensures that clients feel comfortable when describing the issues they have faced and that their evidence – for example, in witness statements – is captured accurately. Lorraine also deals with the key documentary evidence obtained in cases to ensure that this is presented clearly and in an efficient manner.
