Our commercial dispute resolution team has acted for a UK-based rubber manufacturer against its former exclusive US distributor over the supply of car mats for car manufacturers throughout the US. We are currently acting for a 40 year old woman knocked off her bicycle at speed. She sustained multiple bleeds to the brain and remained off work for some six months after the accident. Liability has been admitted although arguments are being raised over contributory negligence on account of our client’s failure to wear a cycle helmet.
Our personal injury team represented the wife of a man who was killed in a cycling accident in the Peak District when a motorbike lost control on a corner and hit him head on.
We have acted for a client who was involved in an incident where he was ‘doored’ by a car driver as he cycled past. His bike was extensively damaged and was taken to a cycle shop where he asked for it to be made roadworthy and safe to use. Two weeks afterwards, he had a second cycling accident when the carbon forks collapsed causing him to hit his head and fracture his cheekbone.
We recovered compensation for our client, a keen cyclist who was training for a competitive triathlon when hit by a car, sustaining serious injuries.
